Tree work in Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury sits right next to Worcester across Lake Quinsigamond, and many neighborhoods have large, mature trees close to homes. Waterfront and sloped lots can make access tricky, so it’s worth asking a crew how they’ll get equipment in and how they’ll protect the lawn.
Asian longhorned beetle: Shrewsbury is part of the state and federal regulated area for the Asian longhorned beetle, which was first found in neighboring Worcester in 2008. Rules limit moving wood and branches out of the regulated area, so tree debris has to be handled properly. Questions about possible beetle damage can go to the eradication program at 508-852-8090.
